Origin of Birth: Basel, on the Switzerland border

Born to a wealthy aristocrat sometime in the late 800s, Kardiagra was born to wealth and prestige. His father, however, was a notorious drunk and gambler, and paid little attention to the boy. Kardiagra grew into a man, well trained in fencing, the humanities and literature. He was well mannered, soft spoken and keen. His father however, had dissolved into squalor, and, after a night of heavy drinking, came home in a wild stupor. He claimed that he had bet his life away, and that a man was after him to collect it. Of course, Kardiagra ignored this as merely a drunken jest, but stood watch over his sobering father. At some point in the evening, he fell into a deep slumber, and awoke to find his castle in ruins around him. The servants were destroyed and the furniture tossed about and broken. His father, however, was no where to be found. Kardiagra set into the castle at a jog, looking everywhere for his father, when he became attacked by strange monsters. He defeated them, but was still perplexed. After more fighting, he came to the top floor where he found his father in the hands of a handsome young man. The man released his father, and it was there that he died. Kardiagra threw himself at the man, but was beaten back. To spite him, the vampire lord turned young Kardiagra, damning him for all eternity. Kardiagra suffered in the first nights alone, unsure of his limits and strengths. He has sense grew into them rather well, and used them to great effect when he had to defend his home from bandits.
